I added an aftermarket intake (cheap&#33<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

'> to my '89 240 and sometime after I added the exhaust system. I noticed it was running really rich, leaving black soot all over the back of the car (diesle style). This intake didn't have a place for the sensor to mount so I just squeezed it between the rubber hose between the filter and the pipe. Anyways, if the wire it pinched or the sensor is getting too much air (or not enough air), would it tell or cause the ECU to deliver too much fuel?
It can't be normal to run this rich, yet people keep telling me it's normal with aftermarket exhaust. It's getting embarassing.
