I just got my oil changed at Midas, because I was too lazy to jack my car up. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
I gave them an OEM Nissan filter and 5 liters of Mobil 1 Tri-synthetic. I know I only need 4 quarts, but I wasn't sure how many quarts in a liter so I bought five. Anyways, I gave all 5 to the mechanic with the filter. So they changed the oil and filter and sent me on my way. After about 1.5 hours of driving I put the car to sleep and checked the oil the following morning. To my suprise I have way too much oil, I mean the line on the dipstick goes all the way up to that dimple. I was just wondering how damaging can having too much oil be? The car seemed to run fine last night after the change. I thought the mechanic is supposed to check the dipstick after he pours in the new oil? And I could swear that he only used 4 liters, or so it looked like it. So, any thoughts on the extent of possible damage?
