Questions: Installing SR20DET - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I might buy an 89 HB Shell for an SR20DET. At this point, I will be left w/$2000.00 in my budget...

I called SOKO (www.soko.com) since they are nearby and they have 10 sets of SR20DET Engines/Trannys available at $1,400.00 and I would need to get ECU - MAFS - Wire Harness - Intercooler to make complete. Plus since its 1989 I will need power steering lines and reservoir too, correct?

What would you suggest at this point as far where to get these missing parts from???

How much do you think I will spend on these missing parts???

Also... about the install. Since the car already is engineless, how long do you think it will take 2 guys with beginner knowledge in mechanics to make this beast work? When I say beginner, I mean like the most we can do is, oil/filter changes, brakes (pads, calipers, rotors, etc.) and plugs. Some other fairly easy stuff as well.

Will this be too difficult? We have most of the tools necesarry except hoist.

Is there any one or any place online that has some sort of DIY Swap Instructions... Any sort of tips, techniques,etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
