Ok I was going to keep my mouth shut on this but this thread has gone on way to long.

I.E. most of you fail to realize just how offensive to most Italian Americans and the people who are like this in Jersey is.
Fact is growing up as a kid the term used so loosely in the show and MTV's attempt to label it a lifestyle is a pretty damn derogatory term.
Those people are embarrassing to all people of Italian American heritage.

What a lot of you fail to realize is Italian Americans were once a minority. Put down ridiculed etc.. Stereotypes were labeled on them much like other minorities.

Today we for the most part are pretty much considered White's it was not always that way. In fact throughout corporate America you will find upstanding, proper language speaking Italian Americans running things.
Largest Toyota dealership in the World started and run by an Italian American. One of the founding companies of Silicon Valley's Technology center run by a corporate vice president Italian American..
just a couple of examples and the list goes on.

I state these only to show the gross representation of our culture, that show and the Jersey shore is shoving on you. It is disrespectful to all Italian Americans who work hard and are normal people who don't act that way.

Younger Italian Americans are failing to realize this. Those people on the Jersey shore really make us look bad.
The ones that say I am Italian American and don't care well the problem is you should care. Its not so much the word as it is the whole show and the people who are out there portraying that lifestyle. Especially when its a minority of the Italian American population at best.
Problem being the average idiot is going to think you an Italian American acts that way. Its like the Chinese guys that think Italian Americans talk like Mafioso because of the Soprano's . LOL but worse.
Yes I have experienced that from Chinese guys and it made me laugh but this show is worse than that.

Now anyone that complains about being called a .......... or a ,,,,,,,,,,, i.e. derogatory slurs of their culture and then condones this is a hypocrite. Nice to see so many hypocrites in this thead. Hell if I said fuck you to half your faces you would probably call it fighting words.

So I dare anyone of you to say I just let the shit roll off my back and not bother me. Oh and Matej stay out of this with your lame ass rebuttals.

Sorry boys, its just like eastern Europeans do not want to be portrayed as Vodka swilling drunks.
