Questions after a test drive (clutch/brake)

So im looking into buying a 240 with an SR swap. I went and test drove a 93 hatch the other day, that was hardly driveable. There were 2 main and obvious concerns i had.

1. While applying the brakes the pedal would start off firm and high... but then lose nearly all pressure and quickly fad to the floor. The kid said if you pumped the brakes it wouldnt do that.

I looked for leaked at at the calipers and couldnt find any. Could it be a problem of simply needing the brakes bled because of air in the system or is it more than likely the master cylinder going bad?

2. The second problem had to do with the clutch. I started the test drive with a stall test in which the car passed. So the clutch it self seemed like it was in working order. With that said as i drove the car the clutch pedal would fall to the floor all by itself and stay there. Id have to lift it up with my foot anytime i needed to engage the clutch. Any ideas as to what this could be?

My only guess is again, to bleed the slave or, it needs a new slave? But im honestly clueless.
