timing problems

well, tonight in my failed attempt to install the msd btm, i screwed up the timing completely. the car won't even start now, thanks to me. i took the distributor totally out and was being curious as to how it worked. well, i started twisting the oily gear around to see how it moved. as i wasnt aware, i was screwing with the timing. well since i've got it all screwed up now, i need to fix it so it will at least start.

some people were saying i need to set the motor at TDC and the distributor rotor(the shiny metal platewith notches, i guess) to cyl #3. well, how do i set the motor to TDC and how do i go about setting the rotor to cyl 3????

Thanks
