Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Hey, I got my Hot Shot header in last night and i was reading over the instructions, and about the exhaust manifold gasket, it says that u can buy a new one or u can just use the old one. Ok what is the old one like??? Is it paper, asbestos, metal, etc.?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> &nbsp;Am i goin to be able to salvage ne of the old one??? I would like to replace it with a new one while im at it, but i would want to put a good high quality gasket on there ... copper, metal something like that ....... I did some checking around town and noone carries anything besides just the stock gasket and they will still have to order that.
