SR20 temp HELP

I have a s13 blacktop with a fmic and I have been worrying lately about the temp its been running. Its been pretty hot here in socal around a 100 and my cars been getting up to 210 degrees sometime slightly more. I have a temp gauge with the sensor hooked up on the upper radiator hose prior to the radiator. From everything that I've heard/read everyone has been saying that it should be running in the 180-190 region. Was wondering if that temp was being measured after the radiator, and if not what might my problem be. Have bleed the system several times running roughly 70% water 30% coolant and water wetter, also replaced the water pump recently.
