1) manual boost controllers spike
2) The fuel pump does not affect the boost 3)You probably have a boost leak which causes sputtering, loss of power, loss of boost. 4) I would only stick with a nissan fuel pump, the autoparts store should give you the correct one and not lie and say its for a 300zxtt.
