S15 HLSD set up

Trying to confirm whether I'll need S15 halfshafts/axles to operate with the S15 HLSD. I have yet to hear this mentioned anywhere, but it was brought to my attention the other day while talking to some local tuner mechanics.

Current drive train set up is an S14b chassis with S15 SR20DET motor, 6 spd tranny, S15 driveshaft and stock S14 VLSD which is soon to be swapped with the HLSD. The current shop handling the motor swap did not swap differentials. From what I've gathered, the S14 diff won't work with the S15 drive train although it physically bolts up. I'll most likely be doing the swap myself at another garage since the head mechanic made it sound like a laborious process even though I know it's a one afternoon job. Just need to know whether I can drive it to the alternate shop once the motor's running or if I need to have it towed.
