![]() For Sale 1998 Nissan 240SX SE KA24DE-T - Black/Black original paint
Manual, Moonroof, 5 lug, power everything 125,700 miles on car Engine fully rebuilt at 115,000 miles (spun rod bearing) in summer of 2010 by previous owner, details below. Car is sold! I do still have the wheel/tire setup in the pics below, if interested PM me about them! I bought this car and drove it to Madison WI from Grand Rapids MI in 2012, daily drove it for a summer and then bought an SUV for the winter. Since then I've driven it very little and have mostly been working on upgrading things on the car, as I intended to keep it. This was the cleanest kouki I could find in the midwest area, and I really hate to sell it but I really don't have the time to enjoy it. I'd rather someone who will appreciate and drive it, work on it, etc. would own it. I'm not desperate to sell and won't take low-ball offers, criticism, or advice. Not interested in parting out, selling the motor or shell, or removing components to change the price. Sorry, no trades, I'd rather have a garage with an open bay to work on some other projects I've got going on. Shipping is a possibility, but buyer has to arrange everything and all payment has to be verified/completed before picking up. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() History: Car was originally sold in Arizona, then spent some time in Ohio. Since going to Michigan in 2006 the car has only had about 30,000 miles put on it (less than 3,000 miles per year). Previous owner said he drove it some during 2 winters, but that's about it. I've put about 5,000 miles on the car and its been garaged the whole time, no winters at all. The previous owner bought the car with the turbo kit (JGS kit) installed and drove it until spinning a bearing. He had the engine rebuilt completely with forged internals and a lot of upgraded parts. I bought it in winter 2012 and drove it that summer, parked it in the garage that fall and have been working on it ever since here and there, driving it minimally. Body: Original paint, no accidents, factory black. Paint is in great condition, I clay-barred and polished the whole car and have washed/waxed it religiously since. That being said, it is an 18 year old car and it does have minor flaws. There's a few dings here and there, a couple scratches that are visible, and some wear. I'm very picky, but honestly most of the "flaws" are very minor, especially considering what some people claim as a "clean" car. Most dents could be taken out with paintless dent removal, I planned on doing this but didn't get around to it. There is a scratch on the driver door that is through the paint, and both door handles show some chipping. The driver side skirt must have been replaced at some point, as it has some red paint showing through at the front by the wheel. I replaced the passenger fender because the original one was dented by the wheel well, was replaced with OEM steel part painted factory color professionally. Fenders have never been rolled or stretched. Frame is clean and straight, very little rust, frame rails are solid. I was going to undercoat the car, but figured its better to be able to show people the actual condition (otherwise they'll assume the worst). I honestly believe the car only saw a few winters, most all rust is surface rust and could probably be knocked off with a wire brush (I've already done that in a few places while working on it). The pinch welds underneath do show some wear, I think previous owner used them as the primary jack stand points and didn't protect them. Overall people are really impressed with the car and can't believe it's as old as it is. Engine: Previous owner spun a bearing on the motor and had it rebuilt in 2010, engine removed from the car, components hot tanked, block bored 0.040" over, and reassembled with new bearings, new crank, forged rods and pistons, head studs, head gasket, the whole works. Rebuild also included new timing set, oil pump, water pump, seals, distributor, etc. Head was cleaned/refreshed, valve job, and JWT cams installed. Since I bought it I've changed out the intercooler piping to polished aluminum with black silicon couplings and new t-bolt clamps (ISIS kit), cleaned the intercooler out and sprayed it flat black on the front, and had the turbo rebuilt with upgraded bearings and seals (was burning oil, seal had went out on it). I've also simplified the wiring and vacuum lines (vibrant vacuum manifold block) and painted the valve cover wrinkle black. I put in a new Z32 MAF (OEM, not a cheap aftermarket one), which improved driveability immensely. Oil changed with Royal Purple and Bosch filter, trans fluid changed last year. A/C is not working, but all components and electronics are there and turbo kit is A/C compatible. It needs a custom line to the compressor, a compressor belt, and a recharge to work. Power steering is still hooked up and works fine. Alternator is new, roughly last year. Interior: Clean interior, pretty much stock, has a pillar cluster with the AEM Tru-boost and AFR gauge in it, also a nismo shift knob, black drift button on the e-brake, and nismo floor mats. Has an alpine deck and aftermarket speakers all around, the TEIN EDFC unit is located in the ashtray compartment and is hidden when closed. Fluidyne Radiator Altima Dual Electric Fans Z32 Fuel Filter AEM Wideband O2 Gauge/Sensor (installed, just not hooked up) Rear S15 Seats Silvia S14 Key (Uncut) TL,DR: Good: Clean 98 kouki (around 2000 made in 98), original paint/body with relatively low miles, no accidents/history Paint shines like new, religiously waxed and babied Rebuilt engine and turbo, ~10,000 miles on this setup, turbo just rebuilt Stock bodied, never drifted, kitted, or abused Quality parts used, no shortcuts or ebay parts. Tasteful modifications, most all parts new. Bad: A few dents and scratches in the body, not many and not bad Short shifter rattles (may take apart and fix) Sway bar hits exhaust occasionally Rough ride with coilovers, not too bad at full soft Cold idle hunts a little, runs great once warmed up Last edited by jvtec95; 01-05-2016 at 11:14 AM..
