so I was thinking about tuning

well I am shady when it comes to the word "TUNING", hell all I know how to do on my safc is the maf settings, but basically In the very near future I want to pick up a gt2871r, and those deutchworks 660 injectors, I was reading in another post that the safc is no good for large injectors, that I would have to get an ecu tune, first off, lets say that is false, and it would work, so I would do 370/660=.56, so 1-.56=.44 so I would do -.44 in the safc settings right?
so lets say they are right that I need a retune, then I would get a tune for 660 and a z32 maf, but am I set, hell just to be sure I would get a wideband to monitor my af, but at what point would you guys say, to upgrade to a 1000 dollar plus standalone, I dont have a lot of money now, but I dont want to half ass my pride and joy, I want to take every step to do it the right way, I would plan to make 350 hp, but I think the turbo maxes at around 400 so somewhere close to 375 on some occasions, any thoughts, im trying not to sound like a newb but really I have absolutely no knowledge of tuning and at this point that is my largest hurdle,
