Total Rebuild

I got a 91 with a ka24de that I just overhauled. During the summer I spun a rod bearing and had to tear the entire engine apart. I took it to a machine shop and got the block machined, cylinders honed, a full head refurbish, valve job. I also took the liberty of buying refurbished camsk, new piston rings, a new timing kit, and a new cap and rotor. pretty much the works. Got the engine assembled on a work bench and then dropped it back in the car(which is easier then putting it back together in the car). After getting everything back together the damn thing wont start. I've looked at the JWT site and many forums but can't seem to gather a solution. I'm pretty sure it's my timing since I have air, gas and a good spark. But i've followed every step in getting the timing set. (Note: The timing kit i bought came with new rails, tensioners, cam gears and chains. the chains dont have any markings at all that would line up with the cam gears. is this problem?) I've set the crank pulley at 20 deg ahead, made sure #1 is TDC, then set the distributor at #1. all it does it crank but wont start. Do i just need to f with the timing by advancing or retarding it to get it to fire? I've gone over and under the car several times and haven't seen any disconections, leaks or breaks so I 'm certain it just timing. Any suggestions?
