Is it possible to fit a 350 Chevy into a 240 sx? I heard it was from a friend, but I'd like a second opinion on this one.

There's one big problem with that....there's no such thing as an '80 240SX.

But I'll assume you mean '89-'93 240SX's. I guess anything's possible with the right amount of money. There should be plenty of room in the engine bay. You'd likely need to do some fabrication....like engine mounts, etc. I don't know about hood/cross member clearance issues...I can't foresee any--350's are fairly compact.

You know...now that I think about it, I bet your friend meant '80 280ZX (or was is 260 then?). That is a much more common swap. I've never heard of a 350 in a 240SX.

Thanx, nah, we were definitely talking about the 240 sx I ahve in my driveway. It's very light and I believe it could tear it up with the 425hp 350 I have in my shed. Thanx for the help... i think it'd be amusing to hear a nice deep rumble instead of the typical "rice" sound comnig from a nissan.:-P

someone here had a link to that 240sx race car with the 350 in it. the page sucked because it had no info or pictures, just a 9MB QT file of it zooming by a few times....ah did it sound nice.

Although I do love the sound of a high horse chevy 350. I am not persanally taken by the idea of putting a 350 into a 240sx. I like mashed potatoes, and ice cream, but I would never mix the two.

Never been a car called the 240ZX let alone a 80' 240ZX...

If I remember right.....

1970-73 240Z
1974 260Z
1975-78 280Z
1979-83 280ZX
1984-89 300ZX
1990-96 300ZX

Anyway like Lance said, it's allready been covered.

Take that back or I'll eat your children. Nissan doesn't sound ricey. I dont think it can unless the owner is a complete idiot and duct tapes a 5 galon bucket to the end of their exhaust

Why would you stick a v8 in the car? just to have your ass beaten by some supras. Stay with the 4 or 6 cyl engines, keep it in it's class.

hmm, i don't know about that. there are 350's faster than supras. ya. i'm talking about the high horsepower ones that have to use nitrous and still only have 75 pounds of torque at the wheels at 3000 rpm. american car owners have been running shit for a while.

For the sake of doing something different, I say go for it. Doesn't matter who makes the engine and where, just matters htat it works, puts down good numbers, and is reliable.
