why the F are slave cylinders so brittle!??

the first time i lost pressure to my clutch (went right to the floor and didnt come up making it so i couldnt shift gears) i replaced my slave cylinder, replaced my broken shift fork pivot, bypassed that crappy clutch dampener, and i also needed to realign the shift fork which meant removing the tranny.

everything ran perfectly for about 3000 miles then last night my clutch does the same thing (clutch pedal goes to the floor and my cylinder was leaking fluid) i limped the car home with using only 2 gears and i replaced the slave cylinder again just an hour ago...and everything moves smooth and my car runs great.

does anyone know why slave cylinders are so breakable? was i supposed to buy the OEM nissan one? my first was the cheapest one i could find from Napa and my current cylinder is more expensive Napa one. (still only about $20) why dont these damn things last longer? can anyone else share my frustration!?!?!?

i still love my S13 mind you

Matt
