ok i was drivin home from my girlfriends house tonight and my check engine light came on...nothin seemed to be wrong with my car, like it didnt seem to be sluggish or seem to die or anythin...car drove like it was fine...when i got home i checked the engine to see if anythin was wrong or if a sensor or anythin had come lose but everythin seemed to be ok...so i checked the oil and i noticed that it was low...so i was jus wonderin if the check engine light would come on if i was runnin low on oil?

your oil light would come on. you probably broke a sensor.

Try running a self diogonstics on your ecm and see whats wrong from ther you will know what happened.

If you need a list of the trouble codes, I can scan them for you and send them to your e-mail.  let me know if you need help on this.  trust me I know how to read codes, if anything at all.

Ok well tjhis has been asked so many times but all you have to do is go to 240sx.org and go to the faq's area and check out how to recet the ecm.When you run a diagnostics test all you have to do is look at you dash and read the blinks like this bl bl bl bl.........bl bl bl this would be 43 or in y car 403.On that faqs section it also list all the code for the different years.
