I can't help with all your questions, but I can answer a few:
3) because of the way the sleeve mounts to the shock body, I highly doubt whether any other shock besides the one specifically intended would be safe (ie. it may fit, but well enough to trust it with your life? I wouldn't). 4) I have my collars all the way raised, my car dropped about .75 inches, I was a little dissapointed at first, but the stiffness of both the shocks (I have AGX) and the springs, make it so that the drop doesn't make my car scrape (we have HUGE curbs and 4" tall speed bumps here).
