fan thermastat probe location

so i finaly installed electric fans because i messed my car up twice this week because of my clutch fan, once because of age, then broke my water pump because of a crappy one i put on my car. so i put the probe in the fins of my radiator right below the return hose. i have a s13 redtop with koyo rad. the fans only come on after my tubo timer goes off and the car has ben sitting, anywhere else i can put the probe that will make the fans turn on earlyer? i know i can whire it on a switch but i dont what the hastle of having to wait till my turbo timer turns off to get out of the car.

It is recommended that you upgrade to an S14 water pump for better flow. One bolt on the bottom right won't line up, but it's not needed and it won't leak.

It's also recommended that you use a fan controller instead of the radiator probe. You can tap the factory water temperature sensor near the coolant inlet and thermostat housing area, or you can install a sensor in the upper radiator hose and tap it to trigger your fan.

i'd reccommend just running the fan to a switched 12volt source rather than using a probe, at least from my experience, i went through 3 before i decided to just hard wire it, i just ran mine to the cig. lighter so it turns on when the key is in the on position.

Just keep in mind how much power your fan is drawing so you don't pop the cig lighter fuse.
