so uh... once again ^smart guy^ i appreciate the help but uh... wrong area! thanks you wanna teach english work @ a school other wise keep the misc. comments to your self ! thanks. anyhow i took the short shifter apart so that i could mount the plate and remove the shifter so that when i put the trans back up i could still have a place to put the trans fluid in. so yea thats why i took it apart. i kno bad choice on my part. uh i tried to put the springs than the small circle piece and than bracket and the ss ontop of all of that but there is too much play in there like maybe thats not the way its supposed to go, but hey maybe that is the right way.

Um, trans fluid in? Are you filling your transmission from the shifter linkage opening?
