I'm in the process of installing my electric fan and I'm confused about one thing. it says here that i need to plug it to a air conditioning clutch. Does anybody know where that is? If you click on the link and look at the top right where it says wiring, you'll see that it says green goes to A/C clutch positive wire. Anyone know how to do this ? I'm guessing this will make my fan come on whenever I turn on the A/C. That would be nice to have...thanks.

Hmm... wouldn't you want it to run more frequently??? Like every time your thermostat opens and closes? If it's only on when your AC is on, your motor can easily overheat on days when it's cold out and you dont' need the AC. How about fall and wintertime?

Well, it will be on when my car is at a certain temperature. However, I want it to be on when my a/c is on regardless of temperature. Wiring it to the A/C clutch will be an override. When I turn the A/C on, it comes on.

Yeah, but wouldn't you want to run it more frequent? What I'm trying to say is that your AC isn't always on. It's only on when it's too hot in the car,  right? You want your motor to be as cool as possible at all times, ,not only when it's hot for you inside.

you mean have it running as soon as I start the car? I heard this is not so good because the fan will make warming up the car take longer. I want the fan to turn on at 170 degrees which is where I set my thermal switch at. However, if my temperature is below 170 degrees and I turn on my A/C, I want the fan to turn on anyway.

Well, there are two wires leading to my stock electric fan. Is the positive wire leading to that fan the a/c clutch positive wire? will that work? Anyone out there ever really do this electric fan install...i swear....

Just look at your AC fan that is on your car.  It has two wires going into it.  They are running from the AC relay to the fan.  If you hook those two wires to your new fan, whenever your AC is on your fan will also be on.  You can also hook your thermostat switch into the same wires going to your new fan, and that will cause it to come on whenever the temp is high.
