Alright this is really pissin me off and i dont want to brake anything but for hte life of me i cannot get hte shift knob off. How do you do it?? My car is a 91 with 5-spd tranny.

twist it.  use large pliers, and protect the knob with a rag.... it'll unscrew once you break the glue that's used to keep the knob set.

You just simply twist it off...it's a bitch at first but it eventually comes off

nah, definately doesnt just twist off...that was actually one of the bigger hangups on my sr swap...we used our hands and a pair of vise grips, but when we put something to protect it the visegrips would just slip off.  my shiftknob got all sratched up, but whatever...couldnt get it off without doing that...
