Crappy condition streets.
The whole street wasn't cleaned so there is still dust and fine debris on the track. No groove in the lane he took off on. Did they even use VHT? More than likely The driver was overcome by adrenaline and thought, "How different could it be" Took off and then that happened. Most of the time events like that are put together fairly cheaply so they tend to skimp on important things like that. Sadly.
