SR Stupid sr runing like a WRX...

well i was driving around and my car started to hickup. so i pulled ofer and turned the car off and checked out everything. didnt see anything wrong. pulled plugs and everything looked normal. so i start it up and its starts running like a wrx. so i rey to figure out why it the #1 cylinders not working rite. and then my coil pack kills its self. straight up starts smoking and melting. so i get a ride and replase my coil packs and harness from the ones i had at home. and i still have the same wrx sound. and it accualy runs better without the coil pack pluged in.

s13 sr20det redtop no mods except a FMIC
i checked.

coils
coil pack harness
spark plugs
timing
have full oil
full collent
all fluids good

im going to compression test it tomarrow and buy new plugs. but what else could it be?

Its hard for people to respond to what you are saying because you didn't spell things right and grammar is nearly unreadable. So what do you mean by melting and stuff like that. Secondly, do a leak down test and not a compression test because that gives you a better idea on what is messed up. But your coilpacks don't mess up that often.

if the coil pack got hot enough to smoke and melt, i'm going to assume that there's a short in the coil harness going to that coil...chase the wires back, find the short and fix it.
