7/8 clutch slave, helloooo

So here is the prototype 7/8 cnc'd aluminum slave I have been working on. This is a rough prototype and the next ones I make will be straight bolt on. Lines in and out in the same location as oem.

Can be used on any 240sx tranny and 300z. It bypasses the damper, here are some pics.

So this seems to be the only forum of the 3 I post on that doesn't care about a better slave. Note to self, u all suck.

For real, dont u guys wanna give your left leg some relief, or do none of u have an ACT or hyper/super single or multi-plate?

Wouldn't this put more pressure on the master cylinder?

F1/A1=F2/A2 is the equation that explains this. But if you haven't taken college physics, think of it like this- if you increase the area on the slave side (slave cylinder bore), the force applied to that piston also increases, all else (the master cylinder side) staying the same. So with the same foot input, there will be more force applied to the clutch TOB, so it will feel softer to you and not fatigue your leg so much.

Quote:
Way overcomplicated....

Pressure, measured in forced applied over area, in itself will explain why a larger bore makes the clutch easier to depress. Increase the area of the cylinder, and increase the amount of forced applied, given pressure remains constant. 7 psi exerts 7lbs on one sqare inch of area. 7psi exerts 14lbs on two square inches of area.

Exactly. Area goes up, applied force needed goes down. That's just force, though.

Seishuku is also right. This isn't like brakes, where line pressure is the big factor. The clutch system actually moves fluid. So the larger volume of the new slave will mean that it moves proportionally less than the stock slave per unit of master cylinder travel. So the same 15% lighter feel also gets you a 15% reduced throwout bearing travel. You'll probably be fine, but I have seen a related thread in the GT-R section on certain clutches that you shouldn't upgrade the slave with.

I dont know about u, but OS-Giken is just as high of quality as ORC, they are almost the same. One of these days when I visit my boy in Irvine I will PM you and you can feel my clutch and yours and see what is better as far as feel.

Your gonna spend $600-1k on a clutch and then not spend 13-15% of that for better hydraulics. The CMC is on the way too.
