talking about the pressed on washers that hold the shift boot to the trim?

....i sucessfully removed 1. the rest all snapped. the trick i used was to "spin" it off.

s14 plastic is the equivalent of water down poop.

I just broke them off and when I replaced the shift boot I just folded the fabric a little further under the ring so it's pinched... that holds it in just fine.

I went at it with a thin knife, and then proceed to pry the washers upward little by little until they all come off without snapping off the plastic. This is where you want to take your time. Prior to the reinstall, I took a hammer and tap each of them on their face lightlyand then pressed them back on.

I was just about to make this post.

Thankfully I searched!

I have the same problem for my S14

I got my car washed and detailed this weekend, but they vacuumed too hard and broke the washer on the driver side bottom shift boot.

Apart from pinching in the cloth, is there any other way to fix it?
I have it pinched in the cloth right now.

Thanks for the help.
