Like the topic says.  How accurate are autometers boost gauges?  Do any of you have issues with them?

I think that Autometer is the gauge that every other gauge is measured by.  It is fairly precise, but not overly precise.  Many gauges are better, and many are worse ($12 electric gauges from Jegs).
Mine... it is extremely accurate.  It is pegged just above 4psi when it works.  (Only reason it decides not to is because my boost sending line crimps.  Gotta re-do my a-pillar holes.)

I heard from Eric(uiuc240) that his autometer gauge sucked. I dunnow whom to trust. Right now i'm still undecided. If i luck out, i'll get myself a greddy electrical (maaany people had good stuff to say about it). If not, i'm gonna wait till my turbo arrives, call up turbonetics and see if they can hook me up with a 4psi spring for their internal wg. If they can, i'm going to buy autometer and be happy. If not, i'll be tuning the wastegate till it's right with the greddy gauge that i'll have to buy at full price at that point &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

OK, let me clarify. &nbsp;My autometer gauge is not accurate, but it is fairly precise. &nbsp;Not accurate, in that it's not adjusted directly to ZERO when off. &nbsp;But precise in that it reads the same pressure consistently, which is why I'm content with it. &nbsp;Maybe when I have more money falling out of my ass, I'll buy another, better one. &nbsp;But for now, it does the job just fine. &nbsp;I just have to remember that 24 in/Hg on the gauge is actually just 21-22, and 6.5 psi is actually more like 7. &nbsp;It just reads a little low. &nbsp;I could take it out of the pillar mount and "adjust" it again, but it's fine for me. &nbsp;The only thing you do NOT want to do is use it to fine tune. &nbsp;But all I have it for is to make sure I'm not spiking or getting horrible vacuuum. &nbsp;See, if a wastegate actuator hose pops off, you'll get TONS of boost...so just let off the throttle. &nbsp;And the Autometer will tell me that no problem.

And you WILL be able to trust it to tell you if you're at 4 rather than 5 psi. &nbsp;It's good enough. &nbsp;Trust me. &nbsp;It's just not the shizzle like the Greddy/Blitz/Defi are.

The phantoms do have issues I have not heard of the same problems with the ultrlites though. I have a ultralite and dont have any complaints. I will be changing over to a Greddy soon but only so all my gauges are the same.... LOL
