Question my suede door-panels & GB door, hows it look?

OK, well ive got a years worth of experience doing upholstery with my uncle (which was over 6 yrs ago) and decided freshen up using my car. its been a while since ive been to an upholstery supply store, and damn how the material prices went up.. i used black suede, well tell me what you think.( i might consider doing these for anyone who wants them done, for like $100 depending on material/fabrics) but for the most part give me your input.

thanks, ronnie.

Looks good. Is the material backed with anything? E.g. foam.

This is the question that has prevented me from attempting this with my car.

What's the best technique for those compound bends?
Same method for suede and cloth?

i've tried this and couldn't get the door inserts right. At all of those curves the suede kept bunching up. I was able to do my glove box and armrest though and its held up for almost 2yrs.

this is for two door panels and the glove box door.
(i can also do headliners rear door panel plastics and seat foam repair.)

preemies= $90 depending on materials you want (some cost more than others)
"become a Zilvia preemie and you get hooked up.."

non-preemie=$100 depending on material you want.

let me know

A smart non-premie would pay $10 to become a premie then spend $90 on the work.

The work's really clean and well done. Do you have a price for just the door cards?

...and like Barry said, clean out your car!

Nice install. Wrapped my shit in suede a year or so ago too. Dope! Nice install though, your glovebox came out better than mine.

For people interested in doing it, it's pretty cheap and easy. I went to Joanns (fabric store) and picked up some suede cloth (they had a few, got the stretchiest one, helps with forming the door panel shape without wrinkles) for like $20 for a sheet. Pick up a can of this shit and you're set.

I also did the same thing with my door cards and glove box. Instead of suede I used Gucci fabric sort of as a joke, but the black/grey actually turned out pretty good and a lot of people really like it (escpecially chicks).

I can almost guarantee you that the door panels will not last if you used 3M adhesive. No matter how well you applied it, no matter how much you used, the fabric WILL come off within a few months. It will either be on a really hot day (depending on where you live) or just because they are a high wear area.

Broadfield and I have been trying to figure out a remedy to this problem for a while. He can get a hold of industrial strength adhesive and it still comes off. The only solution that he has thought of is hand-stitching a seam through the suede like you would see on OEM leather or suede applications, but thats going to take some time and effort to make it work/look good.

All in all, Id seriously warn anbody that buys these panels from you that there is a good chance of the suede/fabric coming off. Im not trying to discredit your work or your abilities, Im just telling you from first hand experience. Hope this helps.

Did mine in almost the same suede about a year ago, the glovebox and armrest were easily done but the door panels were a huge pain. Yours looked like they came out nice, good job. Mine started peeling off the door panels a couple days after I did it
