s14 s14 offset question.

Hi,

I was wondering which would fit better on the front 17x9 +36mm or 17x8 +20mm?

Or are both not a good idea?

Thank you in advance

I have 17x8 + 35 up front and 17x9 +35 rear. The Front I need a 5mm spacer to clear my coilovers. The rear is perfectly fine.

Here is a good pic of how it looks. It is very good since no matter how low I lower it, it won't rub the inner fender.

Hi,

Thanks for the help, may I ask what kind of rims those are?

I am tring to use ford cobra wheels, as they are cheap I can get all 4 for the cost of 1 volk. I have found it in a 17x9 +36mm which is perfect for the rear, but I am having a hard time determining if the 17x8 +20mm would fit in the front.

I was also thinking that I could use a 17x9 +36mm in the front with a spacer. I know there are a few s14's running around with 17x9 +30mm on all fours.(Skyline wheels) So would the space do the same thing and bring that 17x9 +36mm down to a +31mm?

I was thinkin about the Cobra rims before, but they are freakin heavy. And I thought they only comes in 18s. But anyways, 36mm offset will definitely rub the inner lip of your rims with the coilover. I am not sure if the stock suspension setup would be fine. The rear is fine if it is 36mm. You can use 17x9 on the front but steering sensativity will decrease. I think people most use +30, +32 ,+33 offset for the front if they have coilovers and using 17x8.

Hmmm...

U I have a set of 17x17.5 with +42 offset. I'm gonna get coilovers and most likely the Z32 brake upgrade.

Does anyone know how big of a spacer I will need to clear both? And possibly make the rims flush to the fenders?

Thanks in advance!

the make the fender flush ou need A HUGE SPACER. HUGE. like 25 or so mm.

you might not clear z brakes, definately not coilvoers
at least a 10 mm i think will clear both BUT DONT QUOTE ME ON THAT.

dont buy such high offset wheels, even if it is cheap, its not worth in the long run.

s14

"we are going by according to experience.
also camber has alot to do with clearing of coilovers too.
so anything from +20 to +29 offset is what we recommand."

That was talking about the Front

This came from Sam of www.jspec.com

He told me for 17x8 go +25 offset and the back with 17x9 +38 offset was fine.

I just need to save up and get my wheels!

Thanks for the info Red, $500 for 4 wheels is a nice price to pay. They are a bit heavy though, 26lbs.

Which cobra rims you using?

I am using the 98 cobras (17x8 +30) and they are not that heavy at all. Under 20, i think it came out to 18-19 or so.
