I usually connect the timing light pick up to the bundle of wires going into the #1 coil. I guess the other point is power for the timing light, connected to the battery.

if i remeber correctly you need to clip onto the big black wire connected to coil-pack #1.....but there are only 3 wires going into the coil-pack so you will get the signal.....my friend and i had some problems trying to get a signal for the timing gun but it could of been a problem with the gun...
