help and suggestions from fellow Zilvia members for this (rhd s13 Silvia)

Hey guys, if introduced myself before but i've been really busy with college and everything and havent had much time to spend on here.
A good friend of mine bought my other buddies 93 RHD S13. its been together and done some time ago (years) when silvia front clips, engine lights dash and all for 3500 shipped lol.

The owner of it now is an owner of a sound and mobile specialties shop and doesn't know much about 240s, but i do since im addicted to them, i own a zenki s14. Since i am doing it for him i have money to work with but know when things are over priced haha.

Anyways this car's exterior and engine is mint* but its the interior that needs help. i always refer to zilvia for legit knowledge and parts so i came here first for your guys expertise. The big thing is that we want this to be a show car, yet keep the original JDM touch. so all parts that i need id prefer to be jdm. im trying to get this car together and ready for NOPI may31st/june1st which is in my hometown of Erie.

and sorry if this is in the wrong section only because i was confused on which section i should put it in because this is an suggestion, input, wtb and help thread.

This is what i have to work with...

Now on to the problems...

First off is the signal lights. i need some orig jdm ones if i can find them rather then do usdm.

The doors seem to be in awesome shape just need to be touched up, plastic wise and i was wondering if ther was a special paint for the faded parts like the holder and the window handle.

Here is the BIG part of what i need help on. the interior (mainly dash) needs help. the sparco seats seen here are sold and i need silvia seats or maybe some old school racing seats like bride etc.

Now the mess... the dash is cracked above the steering wheel, and is scratched with pop stains along with the center consol too so i will need to find a clean black rhd dash and center consol. also i want a REAL clean setup. id like to find all stock jdm parts like the rhd digital climate control and what not. I would also like some suggestions and or pictures on clean and or unique dash setups you've seen to fit in the guages and other stuff like the TTimer etc...

also a all black glove panel instead of having the fabric on it too

and last little thing is the filter is leaking a little oil out of it when you get on it.

Again, thanks for your time for looking at this and i really want to see what you guys think and suggest to make this some jdm sweetness. When this car is all done i would be more than happy to put a zilvia sticker on it, proud too haha.
what sucks right now is im really short on time with college and finals but can't wait for summer and drift/autox events. i hate school.

Thanks again,
-Blake

well finding dashes in mint conditon are kind of hard do to it being shipped from japan. U can take it to a shop to recover it aswell as the glovebox. for the the plastic parts they can be polished up withg plastic polish and for the filter get a hose to a catch can or buy a new breather filter somewhere

fuk that dude its a show car suede the dash and door pannels get a real steering wheel toss that grant out. reposition the gages(there too far apart) suede shift boot. thers plenty of vendors here to get the cornerlights, and some ballin seats. loose the back seats. get a cage. the car needs to be a tad bit lower over all i like it.and the exhaust needs to be flush with the rear kit...

First off, get a catch can and delete that filter, its only blowby spitting out of there, so you'll be good with a catch can.

Second, find a nice upholestry shop and suede wrap the dash and any other panels you plan on keeping original. May wanna even match wrap a pair of say S15 seats(buy em crappy for cheap and rewrap em!) Or Brides, STatus, ect... Custom mold all your electronics and gauges in tight spots.

Cage it if you want, but if its straight show.... well thats all your opinion then.

Wheels! Get some Ballin 3 pc JDM rims! Big Lips Stretch Tires Nuff said!

Stereo, Its is a show car, and your dude owns a stereo shop, so he might as well get nuts with it if he plans on marketing this in shows for his company! Keep it clean though is my modo, although to win shows these days, people throw 50tv's and a 100 subs ect...

Not sure what your suspension and brake setup is, but if you wanna go all out, do a bagged coilover setup! Or atleast some good coilovers! And some sick 12 pot brakes, ha at least a 4piston setup or better! Of course all neccasary arms and rods, LSd, ect.....

Just PM me again if you want more indepth or help getting anything!

Good Luck!

ya the catch can is in process, it has 300zx f/r brakes and a 300zx rearend too. its got coils just not sure what brand and the main thing that sucks brian is that i dont think we have any good upholestry places around here. its got the axis rims on now but im thinkin some ssr's to be differrent from all the volks and works out there haha. cage wise is his choice idk. sound audio will be next year if he keeps it.

but all else fails for rims i have some of these classic ones in mind--

some of my personal favorites

anyone have any pics of a rhd dash that kind of fits the description of what brian is talking about?

cant go wrong with equips and if need insperation well here you go..

like stated before, good set of rims. the selection you have are really good choices

good exhaust maybe coming out a little bit, (buddy club spec II?)

better wheel fitment AKA slam and roll the fenders

and if you can greddy intake manifold? will clean up your engine bay up a lot

but honestly you have a really nice car and you are really close from having a very very baller car

if you wanted priorities here is what i think

1. new wheels/wheel fitment/dropped ext.. also lights (details go a long way)
2. crack dash/gauges/steering wheel
3. exhaust

I have seen this s13 at a bunch of car shows in PA. I would say loose the front grille, some nicer wheels and lower it more. For interior I would just bring it up to stock spec and maybe add a nardi classic or something. And just look on zilvia for clean guage/electronic accessories setups.

heres my opinions, not to criticise (hey im from Australia what can i say!? haha) but anyway...

grille - can look good to leave it in as it cleans up the front end, otherwise you see the latch mechanism etc and it looks tacky. maybe just paint the grille gloss black, it then will blend with the shine of the bonnet and not be so obvious (i did this to mine, same grille & cf bonnet, but mine was white to match the car before)

lights - i'm from Aus and my car's an import so i dont know what you mean by 'JDM' front indicators, but i think yours look round whereas mine ('JDM') are square. that said, they may not fit your front bar in that case. however, you can get clear ones. Also, the clear or smoked taillights may be an option, see if you can find someone with them and test fit some and see if you like the look. Smoked can be a bit dark, but in well lit car shows will probably look quite nice. Likewise clear can make your car look more modern, or tacky, it can go both ways so they may be worth a try if you can find someone to let you test fit some. Also, you can get SuperMade clear headlight covers, these are basically a clear plastic cover instead of the original glass item which has little lines and things on it to reflect the light. Some HIDs and clear covers really updates the look of the front lighting situation. Front corner indicators you can stay stock and maybe polish them up real good, or there are clear, smoked & all orange ones available. That said, some can look tacky and at odds with your headlights depending which way you go, so its important to think ahead with all the lighting so it works as one.

mirrors - just another small touch, but i think the mirrors look a little odd, perhaps try painting them body colour or again look into some other options such as M3 style, Ganadors (body colour/black/CF) or the CF F1 style mirrors.

badges - i think the 'Blitz' on the cooler looks a little out of place as it is kindof tacky, and if you are going for a JDM flavour throughout it is basically implied that the cooler is japanese i dont think it needs to be sprayed on it like that. also the 'silvia' lettering on the back, probably unnecessary and a little dated in its design so i would think of removing it. maybe do a Photoshop of these 2 changes and see what you think.

interior - dash boards always crack like that, so best bet is probably to talk to a trimmer or something if you can to see about getting it recovered as this will prevent you buying one off someone and having it crack one day and have to do a whole dash search & transplant again. When you say 'old school brides' i assume you mean the Ergos or something like that, i think they would be cool, and also try and get ones with the Bride Gradation on it to keep it authentic japanese style. You could also get Bride trim for the doors and glovebox, but apparently this has been recently discontinued but may be worth looking in to. You can buy paint for plastics so maybe try that on the faded trim parts on the doors as they are easy to remove. Body coloured roll cage would be nice, but then you would probably want to strip the rear totally and get it all painted body colour too if you are going to that extent.

Wheels - not sure why the guy above posted the Silvia with Work Eurolines and said 'you cant go wrong with equips'? anyhow, Yes, Eurolines are very nice, but need to flow with the car overall. The ones on the grey Silvia are special edition in that colour and with the gold studs so you couldnt get that combination. Aside from that, they are a relatively cheap wheel and come in a large range of widths and offsets if you go new. That said, i dont feel they would suit the flavour of your car because its sortof "in between" with its styling/kit e.g. It isnt simple and super sleek like the Grey one above, and at the same time it isnt over the top and crazy like the 326Power & BN Sport Demo Silvias which both were out-there enough to run VIP style wheels (Fabulous Profounds & Garson DR302s respectively). So i think some Work Meisters/SSR Professors or aggressive work equips would be the go. I would lean toward the Mesiters/Professors over the Equips because your kit is quite round-edged, so the design of those wheels would suit better than the sharp lines of the Equips.

engine bay - for the engine bay i would try and tidy as much wiring as possible, even if it just means fresh black tape wrapping, fresh zip ties etc. Try to get shiny things in there e.g. oil catch tank (which as others have said will prevent your engine breathing out of it's filter). you can get an oil catch tank that sits sideways on your fan shroud. then get an aluminium radiator overflow bottle, remove carbon canister, polish up the manifold if you dont want to replace it, polish up the turbo housing (and maybe get the rest of the back side of the turbo ceramic coated to tidy it up),. Then you can also get aluminium lightweight pulleys to replace all your pulleys as well so they're shiny. then get some blue silicon radiator hoses so they match your other silicon joiners e.g. Gates, Samco. Polish anything you can e.g. the caps on the injectors can be polished even with pure elbow grease they come up to a shine! also you could go to the extreme of getting the rocker cover repainted a custom colour or even polished up to a brilliant shine! (i did this to mine when the engine was being rebuilt, its the nicest thing in the engine bay hahah)

anyway just some suggestions, you got me in a typing mood!

okay well i dont really have the perfect pictures i would like to illustrate the grille thing, but heres some to show you what i mean about colouring it. my grille i actually did matte black and never bothered to change it, but gloss would be nicer i think haha i did try with it out, and it looked odd, i dont think i kept the pictures but you can pretty easily remove it and you will see what i mean..

Before - white grille ugly

After - CF hood and painted the grille black.

ya it really did for the white. im not sure if we are going to do that though, he loves the outside and doesnt want to change it really. he's not a huge jdm nut like me thats why im helpin him out haha

i think if i could see what the car looked like with a black grill in photoshop it might help.

i found some signal lights but they are the 1/2 clear half amber. are there all amber ones for the s13 silvia?

also i told him about the sueding the dash and everthing like you guys said and he thinks thats what we're going to do, i've searched tho and for some reason couldnt pull up any (working) pictures of it done on an s13 left or right hand drive. you guys have some anywhere?

oh and stupid question, is there anyway to change my name from bam698795 to bam 240sx ? this is the only forum out of a crapload that im not bam 240sx and it confuses the hell out of everbody haha.

thanks again for your input guys this thing might actually be at nopi from the help im getting from all of you!

that car needs alot, nothing really original nor does anything stand out, pretty status quo for a kitted S13.

get a tommy kaira grill, rain visors, smoked taillights, and some folding side mirrors. Overfenders, suspension, and some spacers to set your wheels right. Paint your valvecover something funky, chrome and polish whatever you can, and get a dash mat for your cracked shit.

I read through most of it but in the original post you mention you wanted to find a digital climate control. Not sure if anyone mention it to you, but there is one in your glove box.

no rain visors, and the smoked lights id rather have ive it was 2 tone with a black top, and those are folding mirrors.

gl finding a tk grill i havent seen any lately. right now i need suggestions on the interior and some more examples of gauge setups, went through both threads and saw a few i like. i thought that one hidden in the dash and air conditioning was f*ckin BAD*SS

ya i should have explained that i wanted the *digital display* i meant, im almost positive they made them for s13s didnt they? ---- edit, just realized i had him send me the pictures of the glove box and that setup cause i forgot to take them for him. wow im a dumbass not even paying attention! sorry about that part.

edit: will these lights work? they're from courtesy nissan and are for a hatch. not sure but we really need these signals
