I think he's talking about a stock setup. The offset is irrelevent to the question cause in this case it's dependent on the tire width not the other way around. In other words you don't choose your offset before you figure out what size tires/rims you want to fit in your wheel well.

??
did you see the order i put them in?

notice first was "width"

and i dont assume what he's talking bout, hence the request for more info.

biggest size tire and rim, so how is that stock setup?

biggest you can fit is 10s. tires will depend on if his wheels offset (because it might suspension) and if his fendesr are rolled/flared

also negative camber can fit more of a wider tire depending on the wheels offset and if he has coilovers/shock/springs

offset is vital. all those are vital!! im not talking out of my ass!!

a 17x10 +50 and a 17x10 +35 are HUGE differences. offset is vital!

at least that's my opinion

oh and to answer it roughly

9"s up front
10"s in the back

depends on offsets (vital)

Of course offset is important, but it wasn't relevent to the question, either was wheel width. If someone's looking for the widest tire they can get in their well, which he was, you pick your offset and wheel width based on what will allow you to have the widest tire, you don't limit yourself by picking a wheel width and offset first, that would just be stupid. When he said "what is the biggest size tire and rim you can fit on a s13 without having it rub ????" you can assume he is talking about a stock s13, if he wasn't the question would be ridiculous cause the answer would be whatever you want to put on there. Hell if you have enough money you can fit any width tire out there on the s13. Don't read more into the question then there is. It was a simple question with a simple answer, "9"s up front and 10"s in the back".

hmmmm... I just noticed he did leave it kind of ambiguous as to what he meant by "biggest size tire and rim" I assumed he meant width not diameter. He does need to clear that up cause those 2 do share a somewhat inverse relationship.

It's a good rule to keep overall diameter as close to 24.5"-25" as possible to avoid throwing off the speedo and gearing. Unless you specifically want to do either. Or you want to rock the skateboard lowrider look with lo-pro whitewalls on 13" daytons.
