motor swap q's?

im considering buying or trading for a 240sx and i have a few questions. first off what would be the best year to get. i plan on using either an s13 or s14 silvia motor (i am buying a front clip) what major parts will i need to get to put the engine in? is it a direct drop in or is there any welding/fabing that needs to be done? i have a moded toyota celica all-trac turbo (gt4) that i might be willing to trade and or a heavily moded 85 mustang gt with a brand new motor and trans.
thank you,
Nate

Year doesn't matter much, pick what looks the best to you and is easiest to find.

S13 coupes are light and stiff.
S13 hatchbacks are heavier and less stiff.
S14s are as heavy as hatchbacks and mucho stiff.

No welding required

Redtops have a short runner intake which is better for making higher power I think. Any other model engine has vtc or sumthing like that to compensate. The s15 engine('99+) has a t28 turbo unlike the others which have a t25. The engines for the most part fit relatively easy, the wiring will be where the time consumtion is at. Hope this helps

Your car has 4 more liters, and it's unfair to race because I have a turbo huh?

No, the s14 and s15 SR20DET both come with the t28 turbo...
