is there a way i could troubleshoot my window, the drivers side wont roll up or down, the pass. works fine, if i take my doorpanel off and hotwire the motor it rolls up, i took apart the amp and didnt see any bad connections, and nobody around here has a switch or an amp, so i want to find out for sure what it is before i order both.

well you can use a multimeter to check for continuity on the switch, but my guess is you have a bad amp

i read a write up a while back to fix the amp by re soldering a broken connection, but i didnt see any, can it go bad with no visual signs?

yes but first check for small cracks on the solder joints. you might as well just reheat the solder to make sure they are all good before you start lookig for a new one.
