Please, muther fucking please, tell me there is a way to replace that hose that comes off the elbow (right behind the thermostat housing) WITHOUT removing the intake manifold.

Evan you've been having the worst luck lately man. I've been under the hood of a KA for a total of about 10mins, so I can't help.
But sympathy's nice, right? ![]()

FUCK YOU ALL!
The correct answer to my original question should have been: Yes, Evan, you can remove that hose without taking off the intake manifold, and quite easily too. You have to remove the throttle body and disconnect the electrical connections and upper radiator hose, and then you can reach right in and pull it off.

It should. I didn't start it because I had to get up at 4:30 am to get to work on time.
coolant still needs to be bled and the battery needs a charge but after that its all fingers crossed that this new block is decent.
