3 pcs Work wheel question
I recently finished restoring and polishing some Work Rezax II wheels and wanted to know if I need to seal them with some kind of silicon? There seems to be a light layer of silicon around the three different sections in the middle of the wheel, but not sure. When I had recieved them they had already been taken apart.

Yes, they need to be sealed. Metal and bolts alone will not provide an airtight seal.

Paging Azndoc.. paging Azndoc....doctor?
He would know or Aspec Logan. I too am thinking of blowing apart my equips and have always wondered what kind of sealant to use when reassambeling. I also remember from other threads that it is recommended to replace the bolts when reassembeling don't know how true that is or how many people do it as those bolts are a little pricey from Work. |

Yeah its a sandwich type 3 piece wheel
You would typically want to use an industrial silicone along the center of the barrel Keep in mind typically you would want to have a professional disassemble / reassemble your wheels if you are not familiar

I did mine just go to crappy tire and get some industrial strength silicone and put it on the inside edge and make sure all the bolts are tight. And make sure you clean off all the old silicone other whise they won't seal properly.

wheels
Thanks for the info and I will try to find a good silcone and reseal these monsters. Thanks for the comments too. I bought these about 6 months back for a wide body I am doing on my S14 and they looked like shit when I recieved them. They had a lot of rash were missing wheel bolts, so I bought new bolts and nuts and had a body shop paint the wheel plates white and clear them. Then started the long process of sanding and polishing the lips. I was able to take the majority of the rash out, but couldn't take them all out. I will be using some JUN flares for the wide body and the color of the car is currently Ultra Violet Metalic (purplish with touch of blue). I will post more pics later when I have more time to work on my car. I am not sure of the offset but were close to this:
Front: 18x11 +6 Rear: 18X12.5 +16 IIRC They are about 3mm from the sturt and stick out about 2.25 to 2.5 both in front and back. |

yep
Thanks, some people that obviously don't know their shit, or don't have the balls to try and fit these wheels told me that they wouldn't fit. No spacers no rubing or anything.
18X11+6 FRONT 18X13+16 REAR I think I will try the fender flares that I have first if not then overs it is. |
