Zeitronix Wideband Users...Please Help

I installed my new Zeitronix wideband unit into my car the other day, and for some reason i can get my logging program to recognize that the wideband is plugged into my laptop. I am using the standard Zeitronix program that came with the wideband on my early 07 Dell laptop (windows XP). The program runs fine, but it wont actually log anything because it isnt sensing that the unit is plugged in. I am running a serialport -> USB adapter to plug in.

Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Can you offer any assistance?

Thanks in advance!

yea, i went through all the ports, and gave them all a few seconds, and even did the "search for hardware" thing, and it never found anything.

Is the usb serial adapter recognized by windows? When you plug it in does windows say "found device blahha.."?
If it is, I would open up device manager, plug the adapter in and see which com number shows up. That will be the port.

If not that just makes sure the box wired up corrrectly.

Yea, the adapter is recognized by windows, but when i click on the lil bubble that pops up, nothing happens.
