EGT and Wideband?
How do you guys put EGTs and Widebands in? All the turbo elbows I can find just have one port, and I need it for the O2 sensor. Are there turbo elbows with 2 ports, or did you make your own?

I don't mind mounting them downstream of where the header comes together... I just want to know if there's a pre-made solution or if I need to fabricate something.

Most companies recommend putting the wideband o2 ~15inches away from the turbo, anyway.
I've run mine closer than that (just for logistics), but that's the recommendation. |

EGT on Turbo Manifold, I tapped one in the Stock Cast Iron Manifold, then welded it by a professional (cast iron, not easy to weld). ** I hate tubular manifolds, they crack, period! don't even argue with me on that. That's a whole different matter.
Wideband you can either put it on the Down Pipe or Test Pipe, take your pick. Doesn't really matter where you place the wideband, most dyno turners place the Wideband near the tip of the exhaust. If you have a test pipe, just put it in there; usually has a bung on it. Steve.

I had my wideband mounted on right before the cat. Check with the manufacturer the placement. Plus, mine came with the bung. All I had to do was drill the whole and get the bung welded.

its recommended that you place 02 sensors at least 10" away from the turbo to prevent the sensor from burning out prematurely from the heat of the turbo. and iirc, you should place the egt probe around 6" from the exhaust ports to get an accurate reading since the turbo takes away from some of the heat. I'm not positive on that though, its been a while.

You actually want to place your EGT probe as close to the cylinders as possible. That gives you the most accurate reading of what your EGT's actually are coming out of your head. Cylinder number 3 on a nissan 4 banger cylinder runs the hottest, and thats where you want your probe.
As far as WBO2 sensors go, Zeitronix says to place the sensor between 18-24 inches away from the turbo for reasons already discussed. Before the cat obviously, a WBO2 after the cat will read leaner than the mix really is. |

My EGT is tapped into the manifold on port 1.
My o2 bung is welded on my downpipe right before the bend towards the test pipe. You may want to angle it pointing towards 2 o'clock. I forgot to tell the guy to do this to my 02 bung, but oh well. Goodluck. |
