in conclusion... you want to keep your luxury... just put on some light weight wheels and remove anything you really don't like, and the normal carbon/FRP things...
not much you can do beside those if you want to keep the car stockish...

How much weight would you save going with Fiberglass or CF trunk. I can't imagine the weight savings would be that much.

Also, a question for all those who have taken out the sound deadening. Is there that much of a difference afterwards?

I think making drivetrain lighter is better than making the overall car lighter for the 240.

some of my ideas
remove all speakers, stereo. that's how I roll, everyone that rides with me always says why don't I install a stereo, do you have to have a stereo?
1 windshield wiper
remove airbags
remove blower motor and replace with a computer fan, seriously that saved me like 5-10lbs
no carpet, you can afford shoes right?
motorcycle battery, that's about 20lbs
I took lot's of time removing wiring, door sensors, S13 automatic seatbelt wiring, basically after all the unnecessary S13 crap I shaved around 20lbs
no rear brakes, only if you think you are doing the right thing
no power steering
remove unnecessary wing, side skirts, if you have a bigger aftermarket bumpers
racing shoes, they are so light you don't even feel your wearing them, sometimes I just drive with no shoes
sun visors, just relax and enjoy the sun
cut bumper support, or remove completely, you make big money when someone hits you, cuz my zip-tied bumpers will fall as soon as another car touches them, they fall off and money gets transferred
lighter exhaust, stainless steel headers, catback, or even titanium if you got the money
aluminum shift knob, custom aluminum e-brake
shaved off the 4 S13 side markers
remove fog lights
remove 1 horn
short intake
intake manifold
small K&N oil filter
1 quart less engine oil, even 2 worked on my friends B18 that I raced with, but he had royal purple so that's why it didnt blow probably
half quart less, tranny oil
brake fluid right at the low line
use old brake pads almost worn out, that's about 5lbs for all 4
remove power antenna
if you have a KA, go with SR20DE
lightweight pulleys
cable and lever, for trunk and gas door, after you remove this you can't open the gas door unless you kind of bend the little latch inside, so basically on mine now, I hit it and it opens.
instead of screws and bolts that hold unimportant things just make little weld
carbon fiber driveshaft, light and increases safety
coilovers with aluminum body, so far haven't found anybody making them, someday I'll try making some
2 piece brake rotors
aluminum brake calipers
somebody really needs to make the front and rear sub frame out of aluminum
glove box. Passenger "I'm just gonna put this in your glove box, hey were is it?" me "glove box, never heard of it"
gauge cluster, just get tach and temp gauge
custom aluminum clutch/brake/gas pedals
lighter tires
knife instead of gun
acid dip doors hood trunk

Or you die. whichever.

Oh and no carpet and driving barefoot = 100% Fail.

-donate blood, trim nails, cut all hairs on body, get circumcised, cry, sweat, take a crap, pee, and puke before you get in the car
-give ur girlfriend some bus tokens
-drive naked
-while driving, keep spitting out the window

these are probably the only things left that you can do since you want to keep all the nice things in your car. dont get me wrong. i totally understand you cuz i like my baby looking like a car on the inside too. the first time i tracked her, i took my pants off and drove in boxers. i should've taken my shirt off too.....

Does anyone here actually have a dedicated track car?
Or are we just trying to find that delicate balance of performance and pimp?

I wouldn't call it a dedicated track car, but my S13 is definitely not my daily driver. It averages about 3-4k miles, with at least a good bit of that(or as much as possible) going towards "driving driving."

If you do something to make the damage worse, like modifying your vehicle, that's contributory negligence and you may be denied compensation because you are responsible for the damages you helped cause.

Also none of this applies in no-fault states.

You have been warned.
