Dear God, the youth of today are really starting to worry me.
Try typing "What is ABS?" or "What is LSD?" into Google, and let me know what you can find out. Heaven forbid you actually go to a book store or *GASP!* a Library, and find a book about cars to do some research. BTW, if you do decide to use Google, and look up what an LSD does or what ABS means... ...if you think an S14 comes equipped with Lysergic Acid Diethylamide, or "plastic" brakes, then step away from the computer, lock yourself in your closet, and cry yourself to sleep.

"Dude", we're not here so we can deal with "What's a steering wheel?" or "How do I put air in my tires?" style questions.
There is a plethora (You might have to look that one up, it's a pretty big word) of excellent information available on this site. But it gets REALLY aggravating when we have to deal with the same repetitive simple questions when the answers could be found without starting a brand new thread for them. Now, it is quite obvious that you haven't done any research on your own, as ABS is a pretty standard feature on many vehicles these days. So I know that information was more than readily available had you chosen to do research on your own. Research does not entail starting a Thread on Zilvia and expecting people to hand feed you the information because you're too lazy to look for yourself. Welcome to Zilvia, "Dude".

You wanna start swapping in parts and tuning a decent car but you dont even know what Abs or lsd is. Your not off too a good start. Since your new I'll sell you my flux capacitor specifically designed for the 1997 240sx really cheap. Just put it in your trunk and you'll gain about 50 hp and 4 mpg. I agree forums are meant for asking questions etc but questions like that..Stick to hondas kid.

Wrong motherfucker. A forum is for researching a question, not being a lazy piece of shit and grasping for help because you're not capable of doing it.

I liked THATGUY's response. Quick, to the point and not too insulting. Well done sir, well done.
To the OP, if you want silver spoon feeding, ZILVIA is not the place for you (you can use their awesome search function), you will be weeded out quickly, which is why I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! ![]() Two of the head masters in the forum are already not on your good side...ProjectRDM is a car genius in my book and THATGUY (check his post count)...just don't piss off the mods dumb dumb. |

Thanks zilvia
ok well first of all of you guys are assholes, and You are probably going to be glad ur getting rid of me but if you are going to be a "moderator" or whatever you are, maybe you should take the time and answer simple questions instead of insulting people, like me, who are new at this stuff. And if im really "wasting your time" and could look stuff up on google myself, thats all you had to say, or not say anything at all. Stop wasting your own time to try and "show off" to toher people and make yourself look fucking cool about your knowledge about 240sx's or whatever the hell you associate yourself with by insulting people. How about trying to be a normal person and just answer the question, bc honestly i dont care what you have to say about it if you are going to be a complete d-bag about it.
If i were you, and had the knowledge about this stuff like you guys do, i clearly wouldnt be asking these questions, and definitly wouldn't be making poeple feel bad for using a website that is supposed to help people with thier problems. SO fuck you, and all the other people who dont REALLY appreciate cars and the knowledge they have about them. and THANK YOU VERY MUCH to whoever answered my question. |

So you registered on this site to ask those 2 questions? I'm surprised you even passed your driving test. Come back later when you learn how to use your brain efficiently.

the abs and vlsd options were packaged together on our cars. Can not have one with out the other and they are found mostly on auto cars. My 96 has those options along with leather but no sunroof kinda funny I guess.

I have always wondered more about the people that feel the need to reply in flame to a question rather than just fucking ignore it if they are so JDM tite y0! and know all there is to know about every freaking do-dad for their 240's.
I have found time and time again that many questions do get asked a lot here, but searching all you find is people asking the same question with others saying SEARCH. Back to the OP, I wouldn't trust ABS or VLSD on a 240SX unless you see it yourself. Same with LE/SE's many are just going off the description on the title/registration.

they could go here and check if the codes match 240SX VIN and MID Decoding - my240 For an S13, if the master cylinder only has two lines going into it, it has ABS (the master cylinder is at the rear of the engine compartment on the driver's side). S14 with ABS the easiest way is to look for something like this: ![]() Or just start the car and see if the ABS lights up on the gauges. None of the above though prove the ABS system is properly functioning and a mechanic would be a good bet to see.

the abs vlsd options are the rarest of the rare. I have owned 3 240s and this 96 SE is the only one to have the vlsd on it. An easy way to tell is to lift both tires off the ground and if you spin one tire and it is tougher and harder to spin forward and the other wheel spins the same direction then you have lsd

screw the car man... go buy a bicycle.. then you wont have to worry about ABS or LSD.
RIP another 97 s14. =( anyone remember that dumb chick that a radio station called pretending to be midas? "excuse me miss Palma.. now while one of the guys were rotating your tires, they noticed you didnt have a transmission. her: oh. dont you need that? pranker: ya it increases gas mileage. its better if you get 2." her: ok. ill get 2."

are you sure you want to buy a older car? I mean you will have to learn about how to fix stuff unless you have deep pockets. Check the kia dealership for their buy one get one free deals or whatever it is. Nobody gives a fuck about a kia. Once you fuck up the first one fixing it you can start fresh with the second one. |
