disconnecting EGR: will throw code for sure?

umm the point is that the egr is coming out at a wrong angle to my downpipe... as in they don't meet anywhere near...

so i basicly have 2 ways a) plug it closed (easy way) or b) take it off, which i don't think will be easy cuz the connection of the pipe to the valve is rusty, and cut up so it comes to the dp, in which i have to drill a hole and weld a nut as a bung to screw the egr in (the hard way...)

but i guess hard way it'll be which sux but what can u do
