problem wiring kill switch
im wiring in a fuel kill switch and its not working. i followed some instructions on someones website, heres the diagram they gave me, i added the bit at the top right:
![]() i wired it to the yellow/black wire coming from the fuel pump. should i ground the middle tab on the switch? any ideas why it wont work? i dont quite understand why the switch is wired to the ground contact and the load side for the power is looped to the ground contact on the relay. |

i dont think that will work. Spilce into the power wire for the relay. ground the switch done. When the switch is flipped on it will allow a complete loop, when flipped off it will break the loop = kill switch.

It's better, cleaner, and safer to cut the signal wire since it's a low current feed, plus it's easy as shit. Find the black/pink from the ECU, cut it half, wire each side to one leg of a SPST switch.
Done. No relay, no fuses, and no extra parts.

i came across that method, is it ok to extend that wire that much though? the reason i wanted to use the relay is so i didnt have to extend the wire all the way to where the switch is.

Doesn't hurt a thing, it's low current. Extending the high current wire would be a problem since there's more resistance, the signal wire though can be as long as you want.
