brake lines

Hey I'm new, ( i just bought my 240 last week. I just bought a set of 300ZX TT stock wheels and front brake calipers. I am planning on upgrading my brake lines with Stainless steel lines. My question is what brand or who have you bought your brake lines from. I have found a few from different web sites, I just would like to know what is the most reliable/ repitable place to get them from. This is my 4th car and I would like to "get it right the first time."

heavy throttle has them for $129
pdm has them for $80
project silvia has them for $139

what are you talking about? 187?

Anyway, Heavy Throttle and PDM are Very reputable....I haven't really heard anything about Porject Siliva though.

Also HT's price that you gave includes front rear PDM's are only front. Also, HT uses Goodridge brake lines which are very good. But both are going to be quality stuff....

EDIT: woot! 500th post I need to get out more...

from PDM's site

Nissan S13 240SX (1989-1994) 686850 - 4 line brake kit . . .$80.00 / kit
Nissan S14 240SX (1995-1998) 686900 - 4 line brake kit . . .$80.00 / kit

Get these. you won't find them cheaper. And Don is the man. Seriously PDM rocks the house.

edit - while your at it, get a set of speed bleeders too. And some good brake fluid, like ATE Super Blue.

I went with projectsilvia's brake lines and love them. the only thing I didn't like is that the brake fittings inthe rear was sae instead of metris. maybe I am being anal about it, but i had to get up and find the proper size. but that is only a small inconvience for stopping on a dime.

i will say, I got the project Silvia 300zx front conversion lines, and they are nicer than the goodridge lines. They feel like they have teflon on the Outside.. kinda weird. but they are definately higher quality.

but i digress, is it really worth it? i mean, are SS brake line really that different that one could perform better than another? ehh..

yeah, i dont think Project Silvia makes lines for my car, so i guess i'll have to get Goodridge. should be good enough though i guess, better than plain ol' rubber, right?

I got the Project Silvia -AN Brake Lines for my Z brakes and they are top quality and teflon coated, not sure about the others sold. But you made a good choice in the PS lines. You can specify if you want -AN or Banjo fittings which is a plus IMO. Which did you get?
