My 240 is dead :(

on tuesday, i was hit by another driver and sent into a wall at moderate speed. I downshifted to first at like 45- 50 to slow the car down since i knew she would hit me, i pulled the brake almost complelty vetical, my engine blew and my speed hardly went down. She slammed into me which sent my car flying into a concrete wall. My airbags blew, windsheild cracked and my arm was crushed, but its ok. I pulled myself out of the window and lay on the ground. She admitted total fault to the police. having nearly escaped death, life seems so much more fragile now. I am in shock that i was not injured more then i am. Please you guys, watch out for other drivers. I will recover in time, and i'll probly get another s14 as well.

thanks for the support all, it was intense cuz i had to punch the rest of the glass out with my fist so i could pull my body up out the window, cuz i thought the powder from the airbags was smoke from a fire.

I'm sorry to hear that man. Happy to know you're okay though it could have been a lot worse. I almost look my s13 when this chick in a Mustang nearly clipped me a couple months ago. just out of curiosity why did you do the first gear downshift and the ebrake? the regular brakes all the way to the floor all the way? I would think this would just further lock up the tires... but I wasn't there, I'm not dissing your driving at all, just sorta curious. I've never really been in an accident, so I don't know what I'd do.

I can relate to that. . damn . I rolled a new mercedes during a test drive a few months back and when the side curtain deployed, I was like "OH CRAP!"

Good news to hear you are ok. Couple weeks ago my best friend was hit head on my a semi truck because some lady pulled out into traffic and the semi had no were to go. He is ok. Life is ment to teach us all a lesson. For the Noobs that are still street racing on public roads take note of the damage done to that car and knowledge that he might not have walked away

He did this to try and slow his car down. Not good when you are going fast and get nailed by another driver going fast either. Hurts far worse and outcomes could have been far worse.

If I am not mistaken thats just my opinion.

My brakes were already terribly worn out, so i didn't have much stopping power. I just had a split second to think so i did everything i could think of to slow the car down. Everything just goes so quiclkly, before you know it its all over.

Its one of those things where you know its going to happen so you do everything up until impact to stop it from happening then you just brace yourself as best as you can for impact and hope for the best outcome. Remember if you can go limp don't stiffen up that only makes things worse. I know you nomally don't get to think but just keep it in mind. How do you think drunks survive there wrecks. They are so drunk their boddies are limp. Glad you are ok man.
