Thats good!
The launch seems about right (I get a shade better at 1.87 seconds at 60 feet) but with my stock motor, torque and sticky tires, it is bound to be. You tear me up on the trap though..68MPH is about tops on my 1/8th and a 9.55. Those look really good. My second gear to third change happens right before the line. Third to forth on the 1/4. Congradulation on a good run..looks good from here. 14.8/94 1/4 9.55/67.7 1/8 |

I have not dynoed it yet but that sounds about right, its all in the launch, the higher i launched at the better 60ft time i would get, i went for a 9.5 at 4500rpm to a 8.6 at 6800rpm, next time im gonna launch at 7300rpm and see where it gets me. Even at 6800 rpm there was almost no wheel spin, Oh i have an lsd too an s14 one

I slide mine in at 7300. A soft hard launch..no banging first. That is the place to do it IMHO...as soon as it is green I get the 7300 on and slip out roasting more clutch than tires...well a fine balance between clutch and tires, I bang the rest. 7300 is the limit of my engine, no higher than that is meaningful at all. I tried it in second and took a perfectly good clutch to the rivets and beyond right then (instant billowing smoke and stink) and that was because the tires were low.
Run 20 lbs in the rear tires and they stick better than the clutch. Find the clutch slip to tire roast balance and you are there. Locking a clutch causes too much wheel spin and jolt. During upshifts, I see 5500..(you should see about 6300) is where I bang in on my torquey motor. I have a non turboed KAE that is bored and stroked to over 2.5ltrs. P&P, some trick ECU upgrades and chassis stiffning. Last edited by Bill Roberts; 07-12-2003 at 02:44 PM.. |
