To stop the crack from growing, drill a hole on each end, a little wider than the crack itself but not much, of the crack to alleviate pressure and prevent future cracking.

If its ABS, FIBERGLASS, or that plastic crap they sell on kits, you can use the fiberglass patch repair kit for fixing it from there.
