It's not that it's skilled labor... it's just that it's a fucking BITCH to get to. Most guys pull the motor to replace the turbos.
If you're willing to do that for less than $500, go for it. Oh, and your buddy should replace both turbos, cause the other one's probably about to go also... might as well, while it's out.
