timing issue

guys its an sr20det built running a microtech standalone. my question is at 15 btc the car sputters at wot but when i turn the cas (which i am advancing, the car runs strong and never sputters) on my laptop its showing the car is at 33* at idle my idle is set at 1200 and as i rev the car the timing moves to almost 40*. my car has been running like this for a long time but now someone is telling me its dangerous to have the timing that advanced. this is the only way the car runs good up top. can this be a bad cas?? and im sure the motor is not detonating so guys give me some info o n that
