Hey Dude!

Damn you guys have been getting some hot weather! Email me some of that damned good water from the taps around the square will ya?

I found this...looks good.

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...r+control+arms

EDIT...err the hobnob at the end was a little uncalled for. at least Aaron stood his ground (as usual)

As much as it sounds like a skipping broken record..amazing things happen with that big read button. I spend 75% more time on search mode than I do posting..and 850 posts in 3 months is a lot of labor...but hell..I am not bragging or complaining. Dude, I got to get up there this fall once the trees turn for some mountain driving. Did you ever get some cars and drivers located for a meet?

I am hip. I love it up there..

Hit the ole search..I got hundreds of hits..

Cudos and laters...

Bill

These are the front ones.

PDM has some oem ones but I would like aftermarket ones.

I'm pretty sure the nismo units are just the stock units painted silver, with harder rubber bushings in them..

If you can get the stock one from PDM with poly bushes pressed in that would be better.

http://www.courtesyparts.com/nms/s13/s13_bushing.html

there are some arms that they won't sell just the bushing so they give you the arm with the pushing already in their from nismo. so i believe that this is just the nismo arm and bushing. If any body has ordered these before please correct me but thats how i understood the site.

they said the OE bushings can't be bought seperate.. Those are NISMO, not OE. That is just the bushings.

I think Still Way makes some Rear Lower Control Arms for the S13 and S14...maybe someone here might have connections in Japan to get some.

sykikchimp,

Wasn't the Nismo LCA shaped a little different than the OEM LCA? I thought I saw a picture of a comparison on freshalloy. Can't seem to find it. I'll look after I get some rest.

I think if he had them both at the same angle in this pic, it would have been easier to tell the difference.. It looks like a lot bigger difference than it is.

On this one it looks like the ball joint is situated at a little differen angle. Even though I'm not sure how just changing the agle of the ball joint would affect anything.

Personally, I don't think theres a difference except for the hard bushings, and the pretty paint job, and probably a little nice ball joint.

when yoru car is lowered the angles change, i think the change in geometry would have a possible negative effect on handling

same goes up front with tie rod endlinks, that's why compnaies like KAZAMA make ones that are adjustable and can handle the changes from stock geometry

im sure TRBeau (sp) can answer it better, he is knowledgable on such setups.

I'm pretty sure the Kazamma ends just allow for more extreme angles b/w the tie rod, and upright.

ok. Super tie rod end. adjustable to compensate for lowered cars.

no looking at the picture there are two black spacers just below the spherical bushing. theres also the length adjuster (gold collar) i was asking if the spacers on the bottom would be adjusted to comp for the car being lowered. i.e. removing or moving them from bottom of the bushing to the top etc etc...

moving the spacers from the bottom to the top would allow you to straghten the tie rod, which would eliminate bumpsteer.

That must be what they are for. Looks from the picture you could use an adjustment.

..DAMN.. this means I have to get these.... :hammer:

I heard my name mentioned. The Kazama tie rod ends have spacers to bring the tie rod further down, straightening out the angle that it has against the spindle. If you look at a severly lowered car, like mine, the tie rod end attaches at a 45 degree angle, and the tie rod itself sits at about a 15 degree angle, putting more stress on the rod end and causing it to wear prematurely.

For rear lower a-arms, NAMS makes a nice set, fully adjustable.
