i've been playing bass (electric and upright) for 12 years now, guitar for about 8, drums for 5 (poorly though!). took 3 semesters of class piano...

i'm in two pretty serious bands Phat Phunktion and Bon Pantalon, a few other not so serious bands from metal to r&b, do a bunch of pickup jazz gigs around town, the UW-Madison big band, playing on a casino jingle next week, and i'm a music major. OOh i also was 4th bass drum for the world champion Sound of Sun Prairie marching band. let me tell ya, that was FUN

i also do some recording engineering and producing for my and other peoples projects, and will probably be starting a studio with a friend in a few years.

so that answer would be a yes, i think.
