I am going to check out a window place see what they can do for me.

I wonder if the aircraft remover will take off the defroster?

Here's what I did to remove the gunk and tint.

Windex. Spray on window. cut a black garbage bag. stick to window. Sit in sun for an hour or to.

Everything peeled right off. No steaming or anything.

hi, maybe try a heat gun & little plastic blades called scrape rite,
the look like razor blades but there made of a soft orange plastic,
i have to remove signs & graphics all the time from cars vans etc. they are very forgiving & dont scratch paint.
once you get it started try roll & work it off rather pull so it doesnt snap off,
I had to remove cheap limo tint before & same thing happened black gone clear film still there & even after the film was gone had to use petrol (gas)
to remove the last of the glue, & it smells like foot poo also

^I did. My driver side window had the clear plastic stuff you're taking about. The coloured tint part came off but left everything else behind.

Like I mentioned. I used that method and everything came off just fine.
